Re: feeding question
that pic looks familiar
wasn't that in some other thread? the dark belly indicates blood pooling in the rodent's belly, because cf cellular breakdown I don't know for sure that this only happens when the rodent is defrosted and re-frozen in and of itself it's not harmful even if a rodent was defrosted and re-frozen, it's still okay in my experience, if a rodent has been defrosted for too long before it was re-frozen, or re-frozen multiple times, it also goes through other colour changes, but since I've not had it happen a lot, my experience is limited, and I could be wrong in any case I have fed rodents looking like the one in the pic with no ill effect

Re: feeding question
There was another thread posted just recently about the same thing and the general oppinion was that its fine to feed them with "black bellys"

Re: feeding question
after feeding mine yesterday I noticed something...you can see the liver right thru the skin..I think that's what you are seeing....if the whole pink is discolored, junk it, but otherwise it is fine.

That makes TOTAL sense! I never thought of it. A pinkie that was fresh frozen and then thawed would thaw first in the belly and the blood (serous fluid) from the thawing would collect in the belly. Thanks! Wish I'd known that last time I discarded some thawed/refrozen pinks!

Re: feeding question
I think that if you're going to try to re-offer a thawed rodent within the next 36 hours or so, it makes more sense to just fridge it, and to toss it if it's not taken then
also I think it's wise to toss them after a second thaw
