Yeh I'd have to say Plains Garter (T.radix) as well. Nice looking snakes, I've always liked the Plains garters.

i would have toagree fully with ssssnakelvr defo not a checkered and defo a male. on a female the tail is a lot thinner than the body. i will get some batteries in the morning for my camera and post a pic of both my babies so you can see the difference xxx

Yep, it's radix. Can I add to the quarantine: It might be interesting to let some faeces examined by a vet. That way you can rule out some nasty things she might have. Does not mean you'll still need the quarantine
