Herping trip
Howdy,
Went herping today and hit the same site where I found the Eastern hognose last time. No hognoses, but did see a Northern copperhead (missed the pic...was trying for the "good" shot and it zipped into the rock pile it was sunning on!), a 6ft. black rat snake (missed this shot too, it was too busy covering me in musk...way stinkier then garters!!!!!!....and striking me in the chest, until it finally got away from me....wasn't a very happy snake!) and finally an Eastern garter that was looking VERY gravid. Her I did get pics of and here they are.....enjoy! ![]() ...and here's a close head shot of her ![]()
