Re: beautie's in the backyard
Very cool setup you've got going and great looking snakes. I hope to be doing the same for eastern garters in my area if I can ever sell my house and get the 9.5acres of woodland I've put a bid on.

Re: beautie's in the backyard
HEY,we've got one of these, thats over 30+,and theirs a good 2",missing from her tail, apparently, she met up with a lawn mower, she's thicker than the First pic of the Garter coiled on the grate. My daughter just saw one,the base color was that of a chocolate shake, and thought see saw another one, that quite possibly had three orange strips?
,so over the next few days.I'll be looking very close!!Joe |

jumbo NIGHTCRAWLERS!!!where talking monsteress category,of 6"-8",and this past May/June,we where invaded by the 17 year Cicada's,but I never did witness any of the Garter's ,grabbing these, but the Garter's had massive girth's to them,at that time, and they should not have been showing littles one at that time, they where still mating.we had one female under a large piece of bark, and 10 males, trying to get to her. A few years ago,we had a mild Thanksgiving weekend, and I came across a 24" Plains, catching some warm early afternoon rays, and my Youngest girl,Autumn saw one ,by our sunroom,it was the first week of Dec.,and it's very common for us to see them ,on a very warm early spring day, with snow on the ground.
