hey everyone
i have some questions
1.do you have to hibernate snakes to make them mate? 2.can you keep three snakes in the same cage? how big of a cage would i need? 3.and how long does it take for a t.s. pickeringii to reach its adult stage? thanks, reed |

1. No, but increases the odds.
2. Yes. One recommendation is about 0.2 square meters per snake (when the snake is 1-1.25m long), but it's a pretty arbitrary rule. 3. It seems to be about 3 years for most garters, but I could be wrong.

I agree with the answers that Stefan gave.
Addition for question 1: I think that hibernation is a important part of the life of garter snakes and for that reason you should give them the opportunity. Not only for breeding reasons.
