wouldn't recommend it...anythinglike that can stick to wet food items and then be ingested.

I just use astroturf. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done. Of course, it doesn't get rid of any odors, but there is no risk of impaction with it. I would just stick with reptile bark or aspen bedding for a more natural look.

Nothing, if you "bake" it before using it. But I wouldn't use soil either, it seems like the least practical substrate.
