i have to say, my pair of radix really grew on me. i used to think of them as kind of plain-looking, but they slowly wormed their way up my favorites list, which is topped by the eastern blacknecks, followed by the flames.

same here....got about 50 garters right now, along with 4 sagebrush lizards (my daughter caught them), a desert kingsnake, ball python, leopard gecko...several tarantulas...

I have had whole rooms dedicated to reptiles in the past, when I would keep pretty much any species that came along. It gave me many years of pleasure and a good, broad base of knowledge on reptiles in general. This time, however, I'm keeping things simpler. I will have one room for the snakes, all of which will be Thamnophis. Once that room is full, I will stop. I think I will have room for 9 vivs, each 4ft X 2ft X 18 inches. I reckon between 30 to 40 Garters.
