cannibalism isn't common, garters can be a bit social also, have found several under a rock or board together.

they will check each other out...I would say 100% percent no problem, but the one time I do, that 1% would jump up and bite me in the butt!!!!

hey,
at 15 inches,it's pretty safe to say your guy is barely one year old.slim chance he might be ready by spring '08,spring '09 is looking better.as far as the female goes,she might be ready at 20 inches,and in the wild,thats one thing,but since you control their lives,I wouldn't let her breed,until she's 24 inches,carrying the little ones and birth is very stressful,plus the health of the little ones.
