One of my snakes died.

When I came home from work this evening I found my female baby T.c.occelatus dead in the tank. No idea why, she was fine this morning. She's been eating regularly and showing no signs of anything being wrong. But there she was, dead. I'm gutted. I doubt I'll have the opportunity to replace her this year.

Oh James I´m sorry for you.
I know what you may feel and what kind of questions will torture your brain.
Will you give her to a lab to find the cause of dead?

Oh, I'm so sorry James. I know how it drives you nuts when you don't have any clue what happened... you just keep questioning yourself over and over. Really sorry.

Hugs from here!!

Thanks guys. It does drive you a bit crazy! I keep getting up to check on the male! I won't be sending her for tests, maybe if she had been older and died as mysteriously. It seems to me that babies can occasionally do this, one day fine, next day dead.

So sorry to hear James.

This can indeed happen to the young ones, I think this happened also to a few of my cyrtopsis cyrtopsis offspring...

sorry for your loss, james. you're right, this kind of thing can happen for no reason, or at least that's what it seems like, i bet everyone had similar experiences at some time, myself included. 'guess that doesn't make things better for you, sorry.
