Male/female???
So... I'm starting to think I might have a male and female (and that I named them backwards, lol!) due to a huge size difference occuring. Is it too early to sex them by size?? Mordecai (who I now think is the girl, so therefore, is now Miriam) is sooooo much bigger than Miriam (who I now think is the boy, so therefore, is now Mordecai. Clear as mud for everyone???)
Here are some pics from feeding time this morning.... this is the larger one: ![]() ![]() ![]() And here is the skinny littler one, having already eaten 2 fish: ![]() ![]() |

Re: Male/female???
i think they're way too young to sex by size which isn't all that acurate anyway. my adult puget sound male is only slightly smaller than both the females, and one of the females is larger than the other, so in this case size isn't an indicator of gender at all.
goog looking snakes, regardless of sex ![]()

Re: Male/female???
Thanks Tina!! That's fine then, and it certainly doesn't really matter, I've just noticed the last couple of weeks how much faster the one is growing. Of course, that is also the one who eats ANYTHING-- this am she polished off a few pieces of the salmon, a pinkie, and two live minnows. The littler one only eats live minnows; still haven't convinced him to try anything else, even wiggling the salmon and putting it and pinky parts in the water hasn't worked so far, but will keep trying.
