She is indeed an eastern. That's the only native kind around here. Her mother also had some red in the sides, but Deejay has more defined stripes, and lots more yellow tones.

It's tied to little suction cups. You buy the ones with hooks for hanging, then take the hooks off and tie string around the little post in the middle of the cup. I used some twisty wire to secure the burlap string. But if you use embroidery floss it holds tight on its own!

Nice pics and good looking snake....it's always cool to see how they colour up as they get older.

Actually, I can't believe the colour difference just in the last two sheds.
Although, ironically, that's not the only thing that looks different-- I'm actually beginning to wonder if "she" isn't a "he".

All of a sudden the tail seems much longer, and there is a slight bulge just beneath the vent that was just not noticeable before. Do the sex traits sometimes just show up more as they grow???
I'm going to have to try to get some vent pics and let everyone have a go at their opinion. This is a very interesting turn of events.......
