You're probably right, the only real difference is that grass snakes lay eggs. But even the number of offspring (and their size) is practically the same.

Wow, really awesome pics Fons!! I looooove that atratus, and I also love the pics of the fulvis facing the camera. And, does the sirtalis have larger eyes than other garters?? He looks all eye in that pic, but it's endearing.
