Giant garters are protected also.... as far as I know Butler's aren't protected in Michigan..but don't quote me on that. we had hundreds of them on the air national guard base I was stationed at in the 80's. I am hoping to acquire a few for breeding this summer....

T. hammondii - Two-striped Garter Snake are also off limits to possesion or collecting in Ca.

Let me know if you get some Don! I have always wanted to work with them, but with my handicap, it is hard for me to go collecting! So you probably need a collaborator, riiiight?

We have a nice breeding group of T.e. terrestris and our female will probebly have babies again this year. Only this female doesn't have a lot of red, but the babies turned out to be very nice. We have another female and she has a very different colour (can't really discribe it) And our males are very red.
We also saved 2.1 babies from last year and they are very red as well
But then again, we're in Holland

That's the one I'm after, the one at the top that looks more like a parietalis.
