Lori, it is a Red-bellied snake- Storeria occipitomaculata. Same genus as a Brown Snake. Decided to bring her home at least short term. Already eaten 4 slugs.

Well, good for her!!! I dreamed last night I found a grey banded kingsnake in my creek. I'm DREAMING about finding snakes. I should get out more... lol I was quite disapointed when I woke up, because he was a very beautiful snake!!

Good luck with her... she's really cute. Will her belly stay so orange or darken to red (hence the name)??
