Re: Favorite Snakes
Yea I must say, I am not fond of honduran milksnakes at all.... the only hondurans I like are the normal ones. the hypos, the albinos, they are pretty at all but after having them for a while they lose their luster. their personaliy is... blah. that's why I am selling my pueblan milksnakes at the next show along with a bunch of other goodies....
I have to say for me, it's gotta be sirtalis. I have kept LOTS of garters and sirtalis will always be number one in my book. I actually find the california red-sided garter more attractive that the san francisco garter.

Re: Favorite Snakes
I can't say anything about the ones I've only seen pics of . . .
my favourite here is still Sammy my T.s.sirtalis, with Chloe, my T.S.pallidilus a close second and then the T.s.concinnus and the T.e.vagans, the anery T.radix, the T.radix . . . oops - I just ran out of garters I guess the sirtalis are my favourites, but I'm looking to get to know the T.elegans realm a bit better

Re: Favorite Snakes
Maybe I just have an active imagination but I can see them slithering around a rain forest or possibly an aztec temple. I know nothing about their actual habitat, so I don't know if this is possible, but it's a cool image none the less!

Re: Favorite Snakes
I like my Mount Diablo garter- T. a. zaxanthus and Sierra Garter - T. couchii the best I guess. Not sure why. Maybe because I dont see them as often in collections, and because I have had the Sierra for about 5.5 years.

Re: Favorite Snakes
Yes, I posted pics of my garters on one of my first posts on this forum.
Heres a pic of my Diablo. She was given to me by a friend who was having difficulty getting her to eat after she had babies. She weighed only 27 grams then, and I got her up to 75-80+ grams in a few months, now she looks great, even better than in this pic. Started her on treefrogs, now she pounds peach fuzzies like mad, as long as you reach them into her hidebox. Disturb her at all while you do it, and she wont eat.
