What's the garter in your avatar? Really beautiful imo (I gotta thing for blue/turquoise in Thamnophis.)

Not sure where I found the picture anymore. I picked it back when I was working on trying to get the avatars setup correctly and played with the colors a bit to bring out the blue and greens to match the forum. I figured I would replace it with another later and only needed one for testing purposes, but it seems to have grown on me. Anyone have an idea?

Well it could have been a Natrix natrix. Some of them develope a checkered pattern and (two) dorsal stripes.
