Re: Shipping young snakes?
Ah, I wasn't sure if that was the same Scott. I just had heard with crested geckos that you shouldn't ship that young, so I was wondering about garter snakes. Thanks.

Re: Shipping young snakes?
Yea, I wouldnt sell anything less than a month old. Some offspring are weaker than others and might live a little while seemingly fine then just fade away. Shipping can be quite stressful on a snake and I would think very young ones would be much more suseptable to the stress.

Re: Shipping young snakes?
I wasn't ready to let go of my babies for the entire first month, but that's a different matter
4 days is way too young imo I believe Scott ships them at 4-6 weeks - not before he has them feeding on minnows I do know that when I ask him about birth dates, they're usually more than a month before I got the snakes

Re: Shipping young snakes?
Personally, I wouldn't ship snakes that are only 4 days old. I ussualy offer them their first meal at around 4 days...And it never happend that they all ate the first time I tried...
I ussually wait two months before selling anything. Just so that I can see how they are growing (overall), eating, shedding and coloring...
