first pink
I'm all excited because Mesa, the little infernalis I got from Tori, had her first pink and I can hardly believe it
I've been feeding her separately in a critter keeper and for the past four feedings I've tossed a pinky in with the live minnows and a couple of times I found the pinky outside the water dish, indicating that she grabbed it and then dropped it yesterday I tossed in the pinky and some salmon strips for variety there were only two minnows normally I would have taken her out after a few hours, but last night some distractions went on and I decided it was okay to leave her over night this morning, the minnows were dead, floating among the salmon strips in a smelly mess - and no pinky it was the tiniest pinky and so I wasn't sure whether she had a lump and I searched that critter keeper three times it's gone though hurrah she must have eaten it I always feel this sense of devious victory when this happens - like I pulled one on them and I'm always surprised that they've fallen for my scam

Re: first pink
Have you ever tried the blood-and-gore scenting method? Where you entirely eviscerate the fish and smear the blood and guts onto the pinky?
I've never had a garter refuse a pinky scented like this. :P |

Re: first pink
Exciting! I felt like throwing a party when some of my babies took their first pinkies.

the critter keeper smelled like a sushi restaurant after a three day summer black-out and that's only a slight exaggeration
