Are female garters more drab in color?

Are the female garters (eastern) more drab (I mean olive or with non-contrasting colors) in color, and to the males have more contrasting colors (like black with yellow stripes) or does it not matter?

I don't think there is any real sexual dimorphism in sirtalis, not enough to accurately sex them..... but I have noticed that the male Florida Blues I have seen tend to be bluer than the females, but that could be just coincidence... maybe all the males I had just happened to be quite blue..

Except for the enormous size difference in adults.

Actually, it's not the first time I've heard about this theory, but like you pointed out, it's not accurate enough.
