Well this sucks
I work 3rd shift and have been home for a bit. I have my computer in the room with my snakes and went in to check my email before going to bed. I found a 5 foot long surprise waiting for me as I walked in. Goober, one of my corn snakes, has never given me any trouble before, but today he decided to take a walk. He wrecked the wire on the top of his cage and is going "walkabout" in here. He's long enough that no matter what part of him I get hold of the rest of him is wrapped around something else and I can't pull him out without hurting him. Now he is hiding under a stack of cages too large for me to move alone without risking them squishing him. You wouldn't believe the names I'm calling him in my head! I have lizards loose in this house, I can't have a 5 ft snake running around. It could take hours for him to work up the nerve to come out. Stupid corn!!!

I'm sure he will come out, but I guess patience is the word here...
Good luck getting him!

I would try putting out something for him to eat. Far enough from him, so he would have to come out.

Re: Well this sucks
The trouble is the cages are stacked on a table and the table only sticks out about a foot beside the cages. So, if I put food out that will still leave 4 ft back under the cages. He had about 3 ft showing when I first found him and he wrapped his tail around the legs under the cage. I'm going to have to go to bed soon, I have to work tonight. That means trying to keep him in the reptile room and snakes can get out of any room! I'm hoping both the dragons are in my bedroom, they like to sleep where it is cool.

lol
Now you see, if this were a garter, eventually he'd get curious and come out.
Have you tried providing a cool-er or warm-er spot for him to thermo regulate at, then you can catch him?

Re: Well this sucks
If there isnt enough room to lure him out onto with a mouse- make room by holding something up there- a board, or tilt your ironing board or whatever you have laying around.
If all else fails and you have to leave, can you put the dragons in a cage till you get the snake secured?

Re: Well this sucks
Well, I'm back up and Goober is still under the cage. Now he has torn loose the heat tape that runs along the back/bottom of the lenth of the cage and is laying between it and the cage. So, the heat tape is turned off, it was never intended for laying directly on it. As far as a waiting game, this may be a long one.
Oh, Goober was named as a baby by my boyfriend in revenge for me naming his prize breeder fish Bubba. Men can be so petty, but the name stuck.

lol corn snakes are amazing escape artists. not many people realise that they are also good climbers, try securing a pole of some sort at an angle near where he is hiding or maybe a tree branch, leave the room for a while and the corns explorative instincts may come to the fore and he may come out of hiding inorder to go climbing, then hopefully you can catch him
Good Luck
ooh also there is a trap you can make with a large drinks bottle and a tube of cloth secure the tube of cloth inside the drinks bottle to the open top of the bottle, put his favourite food item into the bottle, when the snake climbs through the cloth and bottle top to get to the food he will be unable to get out again, because while the cloth allows him to get in it shouldnt allow him to get out. then you can carefully cut open the bottle to retrieve your snake. it works sometimes but not always.
