Re: my new fish eating snakes :-)
You might take a hint from the type of locations where they are found, what the weather and climate cycles are in that area, and what time of year they breed. At least it's a place to start...

Problem is that there is as good as nothing known about the exact places they live. Sure, it is tropical, but at what height do they live (temperature) and under what kind of moist conditions?

Re: my new fish eating snakes :-)
What country are they from? What is the general climate and climate cycles there?
Who collects them? If you can find someone who collects them, then you can ask more specifics on where they are found...

Re: my new fish eating snakes :-)
Hi Kuno,
Here are a few people who are selling Xenochrophis vittatus on other websites. At least a few are breeding them, so maybe they could help you. Rick Indonesian Garter Snakes Sale/Trade - Garter, Water & Ribbon Snakes help! please take some indonesian garter babies!!! - Garter, Water & Ribbon Snakes Also, someone's been selling them on Kingsnake.com Classifieds > Other Snakes but I don't know if it's one of the above people. IIRC the second person is selling them for $10 each. Rick |
