Re: my new fish eating snakes :-)

The guy on Kingsnake.com seems to know more than most regarding these snakes. I bought two from him a little over a month ago.
He has a phone # and email on kingsnake. His company is DTS Herps and if you go to classifieds, click " other snakes", you'll usually find a couple of listings of his.

The one about "Please take my....." hasn't replied to anyone in months.

If you have any advice for me that would be great. I know mine get pretty low energy if the cage temp falls below 80 F.

If your trying to breed, I'm sure you know they lay eggs.

Snakes of Southeast Asia : Striped Keelback - Xenochrophis vittatus

Above is a site regarding the snakes, but as you said info is hard to come by!

Take Care,

Bob

Re: my new fish eating snakes :-)

Hi I've had one for a couple months now and he is my favorite. The ambient temp. in his cage is between 75f and 80f with a hot spot around 85f to 88f, the humidity stays around 50%. This has worked very well for me indeed. He eats pinkys but will only take frequent small meals. He could easily take 2 or 3 small pinkys but he only takes 1 twice a week. He seems to soak in his dish alot. When I first got him he was eating fish like crazy but then I learned about vitamin b defiency and decided to switch all my garters to rodents.
