Looks like he's really enjoying that worm. My eyes bulge out like that when I'm eating good food too...

From now on, I'll treat others like they treat me. Some will be glad, others should be scared

I would love to have a pair of those red striped ordinoides and also some of the concinnus morphs.

    Re: Concinnusman's Garters

Due to polymorphism I have a hard enough time finding just one ordinoides with red stripes. Searched for months and saw hundreds of snakes, if not more, before I found that female. Then finally last fall I found a really nice looking one with an intense orange stripe. That snake never would eat for me so I don't have it any more. The solid red one (erythristic) was found by someone else and is even more rare. Even if those two breed for me, there's no predicting what the babies will look like. They could look nothing like the parents.

If you're serious, send me your contact info in a PM and I'll let you know when my CB litters arrive. First concinnus litter is due in about 60 days.

That's how it is with Mama and Snakey, except, the babies do have the pattern that Mama has. Just not the colours.

And the one's around where these two are from,(west of Portland) also have that pattern consisting of rows of dots. They both have it, and so did her babies last year.

Then I found some in Clark Co. WA and they didn't have the dots. There are traits common throughout their range, and then there are certain traits that seem to be locale-specific. The rows of dots along their sides is seen in certain populations throughout their range, and lacking in others.

    Re: Concinnusman's Garters

Snakey is pure black with an orange stripe and Mama is brown with deep brown spots near her side stripe... All the babies have that, except for little extra spots. I kind of wish it was warmer out, it'd be fun to see what they look like more around here. When I was a kid I never paid any attention to the patterns.

The NW baby I got from you is developing an orange stripe.
