Re: New ribbon pick up
Nice find, you don't see much about ribbons over here. The eyes are a great colour, like little circles of amber.

Re: New ribbon pick up
Beautiful snake.
Sexing a ribbon for me is difficult as some of the other visual cues don't readily apply.
Most ribbons (male and female) are lean/slender which usually says male to me. In other species the female is usually bigger/thicker then the males. This is not always the case with Ribbons.
My first impression when I saw the tail photos is female.
So, I'm going with female unless I'm proven wrong.
If I am proven wrong then I change my answer to male

Re: New ribbon pick up
Thanks for the kind comments guys @ Chris ,That was the idea for buying her just hope a male appears over here .@ Steve hopefully if a male does appear over here I can prove she is female .She had probed female at the shop but after may last garter purchases when both were supposed to be fem and turned out to be a pair,Maybe I should be cautious .

Re: New ribbon pick up
great snake, my own experience with ribbons goes back to when they were imported in reasonable numbers along side the garters in fact in some pet shops they were lumped in the same tank and sold under the general term of garter snake.
i attempted several times to keep them but met with little success, they just would not eat.
Shannon and several more members however report no problems with their ribbons and seem to think quite highly of them but theirs i think are captive bred.
looking at your pictures has wet my appetite to own one or more of these beautiful snakes so when i get back to Chris,s
thread i will be putting a ribbon on there, good luck with this little girl
EDIT hopefully with a number of more years experience and great advice at the end of my key board i can make a better job of it
I'm not actually a gynecologist...but i'll take a look.
