After going three days without food, Percy made this strange poop. I'm worried about the pink in it and the clear gelly substance. Is this indicative of a disease?
It's possible, especially if there might have been something wrong with the food. Something that they knew but you didn't. I've had snakes slow the digestion down and hold the food eventually throwing it back up. Definitely something to keep an eye on.
Well, I would certainly understand if there was something wrong with the food! The Petco staff took down the sign that said that the feeder fish were sick, so I started buying them again. I noticed that one of them had some weird black lumps on it, so the guy took it back and gave me an extra one for the trouble. That was the last feeding before the vomit. The other day when I bought some more for them, one of the fish had a swollen, stiff, discolored tail. My fish-keeping cousin told me that it was probably infected, so I tossed it into the back yard for the toads to eat.
The Petco guys said that a fish's infection probably wouldn't bother a snake that ate it, but I guess they were wrong!
I don't know what you mean by diarrhea, my snakes poop is watery... which would be considered diarrhea, yeah? It's always been watery, the only time I seen my snakes have solid poop was if they ate nothing but pinkies for a couple weeks, but even then its not really solid.
