Tetrafauna commercial, feauring checkered garter. Grr...
Hey guys, just had to blow off some steam.
Watch this: Deluxe Vivariums Unveiled By TetraFauna - YouTube
As Iīve already commented on the video, I get that itīs pobably just for display. But when companies like in this case Tetrafauna post these things online, chances are a kid or two are going to see it and go "hey, I wanna keep my snake that way too!".
Donīt they have any sense of responsibility?
Basically 100% humidity and nowhere to hide!
Anyways, just wanted to share with people that understand...

It'd be a great feature. In a 10 x 10 meter enclosure.

lol. Yeah, my point exactly. I was only waiting for the camera to pan out and show that the garter and the turtle was in the same tank as well...

? Weird.
Hereīs what I posted:
"Great stuff, but to anyone watching who feel inspired to put a gartersnake in a tank like this; DONīT. They require way dryer conditions (not to mention a hidingplace), otherwise they will develop some nasty blisters! I realise this is only for show, but I feel that companys like this have a responsibilty to clarify these things."

Not really anything that justified removal. Odd.

Re: Tetrafauna commercial, feauring checkered garter. Grr...
We talked about this video in another thread some months ago. We were all a little disturbed by the situation. We noticed. Way too much water and no dry place to go. It would probably only be a matter of days before that snake developed blister disease. Hopefully it was just for show and the snake didn't have to live like that.
Justified or not, the poster of the video reserves the right to delete any comments that they don't want in there.
From now on, I'll treat others like they treat me. Some will be glad, others should be scared
