Posting Pictures

Hi all,
Since so many of us have struggled to post pictures, I thought I'd start a new thread that we can link to, rather than type out instructions for, each time someone new needs to know how to post pictures.

One way to post pictures is to go to the "photo gallery" section, and click the "Upload Photos" link near the top right corner. Click the "Browse" button and find your photo on your home computer. After you've selected your photo, fill out the title, description, and keywords (optional), and click "upload/submit." This will upload your picture onto the thamnophis website and start a gallery under your screen name.

Next, pull up your picture in the thamnophis photo gallery, and click on the "COPY TO CLIPBOARD" button below your picture. On your next post, you can simply right click, and select paste wherever you want to insert your picture. Text similar to:

[img] http:... [\img]

will appear until you click the "SUBMIT NEW THREAD" button. When you post your message, your picture will appear.

Re: Posting Pictures

What I do is open two explorer windows. Click anywhere in your active window, then hold down the "Ctrl" button on your keyboard and push the "N" button. This will give you a second browser, so you can copy from one and past to the other.

I know, my eyesight isn't great, but generally I'm good at finding things, and I cannot find the "copy to clipbaord" button below my picture or anywhere else on that page.
Since I'm on a Mac, I also don't have a crl button.
I do want o be able to this - help please.

Re: Posting Pictures

The apple button should be the same as control, or you could right click if you bought a seperate mouse not made by apple (sorry, I just HATE apple and could go on for hours about why).

Re: Posting Pictures

okay thanks
I do that too with things I hate
all computers pretty much frustrate me
but they're convenient too
and without one, I certainly couldn't be here
drifting a bit here

Re: Posting Pictures

Hi Rhea,

I think abcat1993 is correct. While I have not used a Mac in about 20 years, man did I love the Apple 2E....all the great games like Aztec, Montezuma’s revenge, and … Sorry, that could be a thread all it's own.

I found the following website that might help Using the Windows and Macintosh Clipboard: A Tutorial
Quote:
Mac users: You will use the COMMAND key instead of the CONTROL key. The COMMAND key is also know as the Open-Apple key or the Snowflake key and is at either end of the space bar.

The best way to copy, paste, and cut is to hold down the CONTROL/COMMAND key while you tap the appropriate action key. [See chart below] Don't try to press the CONTROL key and the Action keys simultaneously. It is nearly impossible.
Hope this info helps. Back to dreaming about the good old days.

Jason
