I hope you are wrong about expecting "the atmosphere to deteriorate and conflicts arise between the members over time". I have seen it happen before, and really hate when that happens to a forum. Hopefully things will not deteriorate.

Other then spammers, no one has ever been banned and I think that really says something about our community.

Hasn't happened yet and I think we have managed to prevent it by being so friendly and helpful to new members.

Well thank you James. This is the only garter forum that I'll even visit anymore, any other ones are full of people who know nothing about the snakes and give false info, then argue with the senior members. I've found here that pretty much everyone knows the basic care for these snakes, and that just makes it a lot more enjoyable.

Also, I think it helps that our usually knowlegable members are willing to admit if they're wrong, or don't know something.
