October 2008 Photo Contest

The theme for this month's contest, chosen by Jake will be "Climbing snakes".

The rules are as follows;

1) Each participant is allowed only one entry.
2) The competition will remain open for the first three and half weeks of October, the final week being set aside for voting.
3) Pictures must be related to Garter and Ribbon Snakes and must be within the theme set by last month's winner in order to be eligible.
4) The winner may choose the theme for the November '08 competition, but may not participate in it.
5) It is understood that the winner gives his or her permission for their winning entry to be posted on the portal page, unless otherwise stated beforehand.

I'm a little confused...the rules say the contest will be open for the first few weeks of September, but I see the pictures have been posted over the last few days, so...I will assume that is a typographical error??
