February 2007 Photo Contest

Stefan-A (our winner from last month) has spoken and decided that the theme for this month's photo contest should be "Garter Snakes shedding (including blue phase)." The rules are as follows:

1) Each participant is allowed two entries per month.
2) The contest will remain open to new pictures during the first three weeks of the month, and the final week will be reserved for voting.
3) Pictures must be related to garter snakes, and only pictures related to the designated "theme" will be eligible to win.
4) Pictures don't have to be taken recently, so old pictures are fine.
5) During the last week of February, we'll add a poll to vote for the winning picture.
6) The winner will pick the theme, or category, for March's contest. The theme will be completely at the winner's disgression, and the winner may choose not to have any theme, if desired.
7) The winner may submit photos for the following month's contest, but the same person is not allowed to win two months in a row. (This prevents the winner from choosing categories they're likely to win the following month).
8) Unless specifically stated otherwise, each participant in the photo contest gives his/her permission to reproduce their pictures in the "Caption contest" and "voting polls." If the person wishes that their picture is not reproduced for these purposes, they should expliciitly state so with their entry.
9) Winning photographers will be contacted for permission to display their winning photograph at on the portal page (www.thamnophis.com) for one month, and in an archive of winning photographs.

Follow this link to learn about Posting Pictures.

We'll also continue the "captions" contest, so please post captions that relate to the photo entries under the February 2007 Caption Contest thread.

Please also post your comments or feedback about the photos and caption entries into the February 2007 Photo and Caption Comments Thread . Good luck to all,
Rick

Here is what I came home to today. Great time for her to decide to shed!

I finally figured out how to zoom in super close so you all can see the beautiful detail she has!

Re: February 2007 Photo Contest

Something a little different. I pulled the spectacle off about four hours after the shed came off .
