Advice on Mouth Rot
The Garter that I got about a month ago(see thread Help with I.D) is developing mouth rot, her gums are swollen and her teeth keep falling out.
Just want to make sure I'm caring for her right. I'm keepin her in quarantine, in plastic tub, kitchen roll is the substrate and she has a hide, a water bowl and a heat mat. I've kept her like this since I got her to keep an out for problems.
Ive got a Povidine-Iodine solution which says in can be used to help treat mouth rot so I am cleaning her mouth and swabbing it with the Iodine daily.
I will take her to a vet if it doesnt improve, its only in the early stage so I'm hoping the swabbing will clear it up, as her overall condition apart from the mouth is fairly good.
I hate to think about the conditions she was kept in before I got her, she's such sweet natured never bites or musks. I just want to do my best for her. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Clair, There is a thread on kingsnake about this, I'll try to find it and forward the link.
If you are a member of kingsnake dot com, go to "Snakes General Forum" and ask, include "hey Doug" and Doug will give you a complete lowdown.

Re: Advice on Mouth Rot
Doug left you a post with his magic instructions.
I have known him for over a year now, he's good.
One of the few people that post on Kingsnake that keep me occasionally going back.
