babie not moving much and very limp

one of the babies that was born yesterday here is fairly limp and not really moving much. Now i can tap it's tail and it'll move in spurts. Now i did notice that by the vent the belly looks almost caved in... and it's skin looks loose.
What is wrong, is there anything I can do? I thought maybe it was retained shed but i tried soaking it and running my fingers along the body... but nothing. Anything helps.

Probably the best thing you can do is keep the little one moist and warm.
Unfortunately some don't make it.
36 hours after my last group was born I found 4 of them dead.
I did all I could to see them survive but it just happens sometimes.
Don't like it but understand it.

now that I've gotten them all out to take a look, there's 3 that looks in questionable health, two regular and one albino... but the albino looked as if he had some shed still on it, so i helped it as much as i could.

I gots some bad news... one of the normal babies passed, I found it just before I came to bed, mouth wide open. I had missed the tank down and they were warm enough... so it just must have not ment to make it... I hope the other two are ok.

Often it's just natures way, especially with babies it can be tough. You did all you could. We can't possibly know if they were properly developed internally or just genetically weaker or any other host of reasons. You can only do your best, sorry about your loss.

I don't know if you house the babies together or not? I house mine together & find it can sometimes help get them eating as they'll see others doing it and then they're all in there. Becomes sort of a pack mentality. (bite sized food only though, don't want any accidents) After a couple of meals any ones that appear weaker/smaller or not eating I will separate out and house individually until they get eating regularly and put on some size. It's worked well for the few litters of Checkereds i've had & might be something to consider if you have trouble feeders.
