how's it going eh?

just joking, but I am from canada. Just recently my terrarium has become vacated.

but I have been doing alot of resurch on garter snakes and am interested in getting one.

however it is the middle of winter, and I live in snow-bound edmonton AB canada. does anyone here breed/sell garters in edmonton? or does anyone know how to aquire one?

Just google garters for sale. That should give you a few results.

yeah I've been looking in all sorts of classifieds and the yellow pages and all sorts of things. But the search will continue, so if anyone has any leads

Howdy and welcome to the site. You're probably better off waiting until spring to look for new garters. Right now most breeders have their snakes brumating and will breed them in the spring and most of the wild snakes out there are also brumating.

Hey Aeris,
I don't know about Canadian breeders, but I'm sure you'll get more help in this regard. As was previously mentioned, most breeders have their snakes in brumation right now and will breed them once they awaken. Then you're looking at roughly 100 days (depending on species and temperature) before the babies are born. In the mean time, you might have a look at Kingsnake.com Classifieds > Canada - Snakes. There are some advertisements near the top of the page for breeders, and they may list garters for sale on their web pages. There will be a lot more snakes available this spring on this and other websites, though.
