the main thing to know is that the laws on releasing animals vary from state to state, so It wouldnt be a bad idea to look into that, for your own protection.

Well, I called the SPCA here in NY and the wildlife guy kindly laughed at me while he finished my sentence for me...The one that ended with "AND completely wipe out the entire garter snake population!!!"

Yeah I know. But I was entirely too relieved to feel silly (believe ME).

Anyway, my husband still wants to keep them until the spring...He says he would feel like a bad daddy if he shoved them out to burmate so soon....
