I'm a new garter snake owner, just joined. I have a 2 ft female not sure the type, shes meant to be a red sided not convinces though. She takes me up to six snakes in the house

Definately a low-red parietalis nice snake. You do get them like that quite often (northern stock) and they can have no red at all.
