Looking at pics of snakes to be sure my latest snake encounter was actually a Garter... thought I would post these pics... poor little baby birds in there have escaped near death this time.

I got him off with our broom handle and flipped him a hundred feet into our neighbors yard... so I am sure he will be back... I have to sleep sometime, after all .

yeah really nice photos... that rat snake did all that work and couldnt even get a meal! I bet that wasnt its first time in the baby bird buffet line. lol.
You are right in saying that it will return at some point though!

I would have guessed gopher/pine/bull snake but it's hard to tell and I don't know the location.

many juvi ratsnakes look so similar... but that looks a lot like an e. obsoleta to me!
