      A few times I saw two snakes go for the same spot in the food dish and every time, there would be a dominance challenge similar to what you see with wolves and dogs, where they stare at each other until one of them turns away in submission and waits for the dominant one to select a piece of food and take it away, before taking its turn. There were very few of these staring challenges, all ended amicably with one snake backing down and waiting to pick up food until after the dominant one had made its selection.
