Did anybody notice the last paragraph about them trying to breed the two headed snake? Albinos are one thing, but such a terrible condition as that should never be something to breed for.

I agree. Deformity or any other birth defect isn't something to be deliberately encouraged.

I saw that too
some people's minds are freaks of nature
it's like trying to breed siamese twins

Absolutely. It's great the snake lived for that long, as long as it didn't suffer, which it might well have done, but deliberately putting animals through such a problematic life isn't fair.

its quite a problem in the uk. there are a lot of breeders that deliberately breed 2 headed snakes because of the price they can get for them. ive seen suppliers lists where 2 headed snakes cost upwards of £2000 and people must buy them otherwise they wouldnt bother trying to sell them.

i have strong thoughts on selective breeding anyway and this just takes the biscuit.

i hope the snake had a happy life.

aside from the very idea being twisted mind stuff, I didn't even think it was possible
I've always thought of two-headedness as a birth defect or something like improperly separated twins - I mean, I don't think that sort of thing is actual genetic info, or is it?

genetic modification can do anything. there are no limits at all. if a person wants to do something then its possible.

as far as birth defects go, 2 headed is occasionally the result of a defective gene rather that a freak accident and this can be harnessed and bred.

You surprise me.....I've never heard of a two headed snake being created deliberately.

i'll grab a catalogue from the supplier in the next couple of days and scan it to show you. i first saw it 6 years ago and its been regularly advertised from at least 2 suppliers/breeders.
