I hate fishtanks. The tank I had for a year decided to crack and break, so my betta gets to live in his little cup until I can get a replacement. -___-

I have a 55 gallon glass aquarium with 1-Tiger Oscar/or Astronotus Ocellatus about 8 inches long/ or 22cm I think........had it since it was a baby.......never had a problem with tanks........

That's pretty much it exactly, it had never been dropped or anything, it must have been pretty flimsy if the water pressure cracked it.

We used to have a tiger oscar in a 55 gallon, that tank broke too lol but that was because it was 20+ years old. Our oscars always got hole in the head disease, no matter what we did.

thats because once they get it they become prone to getting it, and you
have to keep water perameters at there very best always to keep them from getting it again....also depends on if you feed live food or not......
most illnesses are from live food sources..................

They never got live food and the water was always clean, so we just basically gave up on them.

its not if its clear it depends on the levels like-nitrite,nitrate,alkalinity,pH, ammonia,chlorine....etc,...your water could look clear and still have problems,it could look a little dirty and still be fine!!!!!

you have to test water, and do atleast 30% water changes every week!!!
nomatter what.....and if the levels are off then you have to do them more often......

That's a good point, never really thought of it that way.

I had my first fish tank when I was 6 yrs old and I've had one ever since,
weather it was a bowl, or 1 gallon tank, or to my 55 gallon....so its been
about 20yrs or so of dealing with them.........but I've never had one bust on me(yet)....

the only fish tank I've ever cracked had no water in in at the time
the heat tape cracked the floor and since I'm not planning on putting water in it again, I just duct-taped it
when you have fish, water changes are essential

A cup?
That's ridiculous!
I guess that's a good reason to hate fish tanks!

It's not really a cup, it's the little bowl that they come in.
