Nice job, Don! I might consider having a tattoo, if I trusted anyone enough to do a good job of it. Badly done tattoos are the pits!

A very close friend of mine is a tattoo artist and on my dad's birthday I asked him to tattoo a turtle onto my foot. I have always liked tortoises and turtles, collect loads of little ornaments and so it seemed something I was unlikely to regret. I asked my friend to add a triskell to the design as I love the number three and we used the symbol on my dad's cards.
Somewhere in the design are the first letters of my children's names, too.

(can't find a decent pic on this computer, will try again later)

Great job on the tat, Don. Looks really neat.

This was my last one. Done by my oldest son.

Very cool, nice work! I've only got one tat. now, but working on a gartersnake tribal design for my back. For me it's always so hard deciding what to get. Takes me FOREVER to settle down on a design, and then I go to my buddie's who has a tatoo place and he throws more ideas at me!!!! They are addicting though....think my wife is worried I'll get tons of them now....LOL.

I've actually thought about getting a tattoo, but it has to be a useful one. :) Either my name or my blood type. ;)

Very cool luv, thinking of getting an ankh on my chest....like I said though....hard sometimes to really decide.

its only because i am into my egyptian history so it only feels right but just think will you like it being there in 50yrs or so lol if i have an ankh on the back of my neck then i can just hide it with my hair and the one on my anckel i can wear pants and socks to cover it lol but to be honest i still love showing it off and i am very proud of it :D
sorry i have just noticed you already have one lol. but it is quite hard to find a design that you are happy with. it took me ages to find my flower tat but cost a bit lol

Yeh, I know what you mean.....given it tons o' thought. Took me several years to settle on my first too. It's three korean symbols that represent "mind, body and spirt". It's actually from the martials arts school that I belong to. The garter tribal on my back is one that I've finally settled on the design, now just need to do the consultation and setup an appointment. My buddy is really good and is usally booked....you have to make an appointment usually 3-4 months in advance if it's something big. Oh and if I've still alive in 50 yrs. (I'll be 86 then!)...I'll be damn proud to show off my ink....LOL.

lol fair enough.
i am thinking of getting a snake but have not found a decent design yet. i will keep looking though. i only want a small one round the same ankel that my flowers are on but lower down and the head down my foot. and you know how when they wrap round your wrist they use their tail to hold on all around your wrist then i want it like that round my ankel

both my ears are pierced, one of my nipples also....my nose was pierced but I let it grow shut..can't wear noserings at work...kinda frown upon it.

Lulu Bennett
08-09-2007, 02:13 PM
you have your nipple done?? did it hurt?

ssssnakeluvr
08-09-2007, 02:21 PM
yea, it hurt, did it myself so itprobably didn't hurt as much as having it professionally done...large piercing needle. I'm sure it would probably be more painful for women....

Lulu Bennett
08-09-2007, 02:23 PM
right well you have just put me off that then :( lol

ssssnakeluvr
08-09-2007, 03:32 PM
well....women have a higher tolerance for pain then men....I'll take tattoos and piercings over giving brith any day!!!! of course having it done professionally might hurtmore, but will be over a lot quicker also!!!

Stefan-A

That's debatable. ;) Women experience more pain than men.

I've got a couple. I had surgery on my ankle a couple years ago and I really want to get an iguana on my calf with the tail wrapping around my ankle to cover up the scar. I need to find a tattoo shop with a good artist who'll trade me for a website, lol.

My first one back in '93
