I figured we really only need one more Hamm-related thread, so if you bought anything at the show, post those pictures here.

Just picked up these two girls (Thamnophis elegans vagrans). They were curled up in the box when I first saw them, and my first thought was: "Where's the rest of you?" Damn they looked tiny. Once I got them home, I realized my prepared terrarium really was unnecessarily big (70 litres), so they'll be living in that ~10 litre faunarium for a day or two. They didn't look that small once they started moving around.

They look great, very nice.

Their size always surprises me, I bought also some newborns and wow they look tiny. But it's fun to have them this small and watch them mature:)

Beautiful snakes, Stefan. Congratulations. They'll soon grow in your care.:)

I got my 1.1 pickeringii this morning. The male is lovely, but to be honest I'm a little disappointed with the female....she really is tiny, smaller than your vagrans Stefan, and about a third the bulk of the male, this worries me because she's four months old!!. She is quite thin, in fact she has a lateral fold either side of her body on the posterior quarter. She seems active and curious enough, so she should be okay, but not at all what I expected or hoped for.:(

looking snake when she sheds that skin.:D

Are you sure it will happen? ;) I thought it was just the camera lighting which made her eyes blue, but yeah I'm not sure.

Oh right, maybe it's the camera....I just thought she looked as though she was due to slough.

Thanks.

I saw a caramel corn snake maybe half a year ago, that was at about 7 months just a little bit bigger than my babies are. Allegedly it had fed normally, but just didn't grow at the same rate as the others.

Today I finally took some pics of our new snakes. One of them are some radix snow. A good friend of ours has ordered garters from Amerika and we picked up our snows in Hamm.

And.......our first non-garters: Lampropeltis mexicana thayeri !!!!
We're very happy we found them. In the first place we were looking for some juvenile kings. But then we found this adult couple. And later we found another very nice younger female.
So here are the pics (specialy for garterguy;))

The biggest female:

Not so mellow today. It was feeding day today and I got a serious reminder why it would be better to feed them separately.

wow
that must be a species character trait then
mine is the mellowest snake - except when it comes to food
she's my absolutely top aggressive feeder

all the wanderings I have are not aggressive feeders....just real mellow snakes....I have seen an occasional aggressive one in the wild. my best feeders are my eastern and red spots!

Great looking snakes guys! Love your male, nice almost L.alterna pattern on him. Very pretty little female too, love the light centers of the saddles and the really light, almost jagged banding of the white. Very good finds, hope you guys really enjoy them and can't wait to see what babies you get out of them.:D

you did really well

question:
does Scott actually come to Hamm, or does somebody import his garters and sells them for him there?

zooplan

we had an omnibus order
Hamm was only a nice occaion to distribute the snakes among the different participants

The food in the pictures is trout and picky pieces.
