The measurements are:
Broad... 180 cm
High... 50 cm
Deep... 30 cm on the sides and 100 cm in the middle.

ok a couple questions, the really cool fake rock stuf, what is it made out of? and wat paint did you use? is it easy to clean? and about the light bulb, isnt it possible for the snakes to accidentally burn themselves on it?

The rocks are made of styropor that is cut into the shape of a rock.
Then I put some layers of the cement with which you put tiles on the wall.
The paint is some kind of wallpaper. Cleaning is ok. Most of the time snakes deposit their *** on the bottom and can be taken away easily.

The lightbulb is a 25 Watt lamp. Never had this kind of trouble with garter snakes.
For real climbing snakes (like boa's and pythons) this can be dangerous.

The terrarium is made of a real fireplace that was already in our house when we bought it. So the possiblities to place the lamps is limited.
In the chimney-hole hangs another bulb.

On this page you can see how it originally was made. In those days it was meant for two Uromastyx ocellata.

That is one of the best terrariums I've ever seen. However I am concerned about the light, especially when placing snakes in a new cage, since they like to check everything out for the first couple of hours/days, I wouldn't be surprised if one got burnt by inspecting it.

But hell if it works it works.

Bravo

The concern of the lamp is justified, but my experience with gater snakes is that they donīt coil around it. The lamp is only 25 watt so it is not that hot.Pythons and boaīs tend to coil around such lamps during the night and when they still hang on it when the lamp starts buring in the moring, they get burned.

I would not like to clean Disneyland too, Udo
But the cleaning of the fireplaceterrarium is not that difficult.Every bit of faeces is taken away on a daily basis. And I clean my terrariums every month or so completely.

Whoa. I wish I had the room for that! Now I've been inspired to revamp my snake cage, too.
