Also wondering what type of Eastern you reccomend I breed her with. I am not trying to sell them I just want a fun little project for the girls and I to do next year. Would like to have some cool colors.

Wow, that's a BIG meal. I'd be afraid to give Winnie more than two fuzzies for fear she'd regergatate them. I like to err on the side of a little less, possibly more often, than one huge meal.

Haha, She has had a pretty crazy diet since I got her. First on worms, then Toads, Small Mouth Bass, Now Fuzzys scented with bass. The way she keep taking them I though a may have not been giving her enough in the past.. so yea!

Plus I wanted to plump her up for her big photo shoot in hopes a male on here would fall deeply in love with her and come visit :D

So how would stud services exactly work? Breeding will be brand new to me.

So how would stud services exactly work? Breeding will be brand new to me.Well, generally you send the male, the person receiving the male provides room, board, food etc for the snake, breeds it to their female, then sends the male back. Depending on the agreements the owner of the male may get a cut of the litter.
Also, if you intend to breed NEXT year, what you can do is buy one of my baby males, (They'll be here any day now and will have been fathered by one of my 3 easterns, all of which possess the Northeastern characteristic) pamper him nice and good through the winter, and by next April he'll be ready to mate. I brumated my males for two months, and they were still ready to mate in April, so I'd assume that with two other months of feeding the chances of the male NOT being ready to breed would be slim to none.

I was not aware a male would be ready to breed at a year old. Keep me posted on the babies :)

I would also be interesed in "teh stud service" I would be willing to give you half the litter. Just need to figure out shipping costs and if it would be worth it.

From my estimates males are ready to breed at 6-8 months of growth age. The reason you see estimates online saying 2 years is because the first 3 months is spent as a neonate, then brumation, then 6 months to grow, then brumation, then that spring the snakes are mature. Also, they get better quality food and more of it in captivity. :P

Uhhh... Piggys not gonna try and eat Grover right??

I sometimes feed my checkereds anoles. They LOVE them... Will easterns not show interest in them? I'd say watch it...

I've heard that you might have to, if you have a neonate Miami phase corn. ;)

They actually teach them to feed on Anole scented pinkies.

When I first got Eddie Lizzard (a Schneider's skink, and my very first reptile ever) someone also gave me a good sized anole. Not having a clue, I put him in with Eddie while I got his tank set up. When I went back to get the anole a short time later, he was no-where to be found... And that was my very first introduction to the world of reptiles: where anything that fits in your mouth (and some things that don't) are food!!!!

Over here, they just jam pinkies down their throat until they learn to eat them on their own.

I have actually had him in with my milks for a while.. Again no takers  I want him to be eaten, I'm tired of finding grasshoppers in the yard for him. LOL
