:)I didn't expect to be caring for any parietalis babies this fall but it was a welcome surprize this morning. I had a female delivered(brown paper sack on the front steps) a month ago. I never thought her to be gravid. So much for what I know. Looks like 11 babies so far. No jellies or stillborns. I'll post a few photos later.
Today is a moving day for some of my radixes. They will be moving downstairs to make room in the nursery for some of the babies that have been born. So, it's back to work for me after I clean these babies up and give them a check over. I've never seen parietalis babies before. I love'em.:)

Make that 12. Just got home to find a late delivery. This day just keeps getting better.
All seem very healthy and are larger than my radix babies. I guess that means they'll eat more:eek:

I've got 5 little ranch hands to help out.:D Whether they want to or not.:D
I have a simple motto here on the Ranch. You work, You eat.

The key to your statement was "oldest". My oldest is the least involved since she has so many other interests(sports, friends, sleep, nothing):D
In a pinch, they all come and help.

I can't keep my oldest out of the critter room...she is the biggest help. she keeps a corn snake, rat, and gerbil in her room..plus she has a pair of beta fish and is trying to breed them.

These are some little eating machines. Twice a day. Each time they act like they haven't been fed. Looking forward to watching these guys grow.

The babies just keep coming.
Not the greatest of success though. 8 born: 1-stillborn, 2-deformed(had to be put down), 4- normal.
Blessed to have the 4 normals. They are welcome here at the Ranch.
The two that were put-down had severe problems. 1 had an open G.I. track and the other's body had formed together and couldn't uncoil. Both were alert, which made it even harder to put them down.

That's awful! Can't imagine how tough that must have been.

I had a strange delivery to the Ranch tonight. I found a pop bottle out on the front steps. The lid was on and inside was a baby T.s.p(red-sided) and a baby Dekayi. Both of course are welcome on the Ranch. I've had them dropped off in boxes and paper bags, heck I even had one left in a tied up sock. This is a first and hopefully the last pop bottle. I guess thing could have ended much worse for the snakes if the person had wanted to harm them.

There must be something in the water here on the Ranch. Not only the radixes grow big but so do the T.s.parietalis(red-sided). My largest one, JW(female) is 40 inches and 255 grams. She has a nice attitude. She downs adult mice without any trouble. She is going to be my first T.s.p. breeder next Spring. With her size I hope she'll put out some high baby numbers.
