would this work geta cage put a mouse in there and catch a snake cause when thre snake swallows the mouse it cant get out

Yeah, it works. I designed a trap for Montpellier Snakes (Malpolon) (don't tell anyone!) and it worked a treat. The entrance/exit requires careful thought though.

Yeah, somebody else on this forum (forgot who) said they did that with their chain link fence. If you do make it can you show some pictures so I can get an idea?

It would probably eat a dead one, so buy live, stuff with food, then let die.

The funnel idea is pretty much the same as the one I made, only I made the actual body of the trap from 6" plastic soil pipe. Light and easily portable. It worked pretty well.

I guess it's not really a trap, but can't you just put some wooden boards down in a sunny field?

In some states and counties there are. Check with local officials to be sure in you area.

Yeh, each state will have it's own laws and regulations on trapping and keeping it's native species. Check with you fish and game dept. or natural resources dept. for info.
