I'm curious, how did all of you find this forum?

Personally, I think I found it through Google.

I googled "red-spotted garter snake".

I was intending to get back into snakes again, and get a few this coming spring and I was trying to show a friend what the snakes I used to have, looked like. I was so surprised to see other concinnus owners, and I saw all of the other awesome garters you guys have, so I just had to join. Seriously, when I first got my concinnus long ago, nobody was interested in them. Nobody. Couldn't find anyone anywhere that owned them either.

I even placed an ad offering yearling CB concinnus to people in 'snake circles'. Nobody showed any interest if you can believe that. Ultimately, I released around 150 over the years.

I was interested in getting into Thams, met Don at the expo, and he recommended a couple of resources. This being one of them.

wow - a veteran

it was surely google that got me here - I had a snake I wasn't sure about
what puzzles me now is what I googled to get here because I don't recall thinking that it was a garter

Could have been a photo search result that led you here.

hahaha.... I googled "does anyone actually like garter snakes"

because as I started realizing I really like garter snakes... I thought.... my god, I am crazy... NO ONE likes garter snakes!!! As a teen I had many other kinds of snakes, kings, corns, pythons, boas... but somehow I kept gravitating back to my garters. I kept thinking to myself... is this normal??? shouldn't I be past garter snakes by now???? Little did I know...

Shannon,
I know what you mean. I have many different snakes but my heart belongs to Thamnophis. Radix in particular.

Me too. I'm really fond of some gopher snakes and rat snakes and I've kept kings/milks for their beauty but my favorite buddies have always been garters. Of course it's normal, garters are fun to interact with and they have great personalities on top of being very easy to care for. What's not to like?

And hey, Steve, I know how you feel. I'm sure you'd be fond of concinnus too. Females get big, they're smart, and very lovable too. Just like radix. I'll have to get you one or two this spring.

I needed help with caring for my garters, and I don't trust the local PETsMART, so I googled "garter snake care" which evantually led me to the forum.

P.S: The reason I can't trust PETsMART is because they gave me the wrong info on caring for my Uromastyx a while ago, that lead to his death.

Okay, this typo is driving me nuts! I already apologized to Stefan... My son's middle name is Stephen and with all the college apps lately it seems I've been typing Shane Stephen way too often and it just slid out. Sadly I didn't notice it until too late to edit the post. Driving me insane I tell you :(:(

And, yes, it was from kingsnake :)
