Community upgrades coming

I just wanted to let everyone know,that the site will be down for a few days while l upgrade the software. Hopefully it will go smoothly & the down time will be short, that is no always the case.

I agree with snakehill. What will we do with out everyone here for a couple days. I go on here everyday even if it is just to read whats going on. What will we do :(::confused:

It will be soon, very soon. The biggest problem I have had in trying to upgrade the site is to set a side enough time to do it properly and not rush it.

As to the any new features, I have a feeling that I will keep them off while we work out the normal bugs that show up. I know the software added blogging and an article section, but we have our own article section. Of course it is not really contributed too like I thought it would be so we might end up going with a static article section .

Things on the list to work on are

Forum software, gallery software, remove the old classifieds section, upgrade the wiki or replace, not to mention the changes to the theme, and some back end software.

I use my phone most of the time. Except for adding pictures. My computer over heats really fast and shuts itself off. I would love an easy to use app that I can pull photos from my phone to use. No pressure Jason :p

Ok, while the major upgrades have been done, there is some cleaning up that needs to be done now. Just so you know the old article section has not been converted as of yet. If you encouter any bugs with the forum, please post them in the "forum bug corner". http://www.thamnophis.com/forum/forum-bugs/ I will get to things as I can. Thanks to everyone for their patience.

how come the green fixed is blue?
so far my only complaint is the colours, and that seems so minor, but I like good colour a lot
the regular green is St Paddy's day green, and thankfully it's only accents - will have to switch to one of the three blue options - what is the difference between the blue fixed and the green fixed anyhow?

The features you guys are describing are plug ins and tweaks. The upgrades require that new versions of these tweaks be installed.

A very reasonable explanation would be that it's best to ensure that the core software is operating correctly before installing plug ins and tweaks.

Well I just found out that is was back on about a half and hour ago I think but the first thing that I noticed was the color. Like what said earlier that it looks really nice and I like the way it looks now. So pretty. Now all I need to do is learn the site over again. It is kinda confusing but I know it wont take long to figure it out. I love it so far. Earlier I noticed that people were talking about the other site. Could someone put a link to that site cause Id like to go and check it out. That would be awesome. I am so glad to be back. You'll have to get used to not using it. I don't know why you need it,ost of today's posts will just be on the home page (portal), and you unread posts are under "what's new" or "new posts" or on the home page in bold print.....

I get it though, my "Who's online" is pointless now. I used to like it because the page refreshed automatically, so I could just open my "thamnophis.com" tab and see how many unread posts I have, but now that "# unread posts" link is gone, rendering my Who's Online usesless!

"Whats New?" takes me to the unread post, good but maybe it would help to change the name of the TAB to "New Post" which is what that TAB does now right.

I was very happy with scrolling thur "all" of my unread post rather that using the "Portal" Tab which only show limited unread post.

I am working on the Unread post count, but can not figure out why it is not showing. As to the smileys, I can get to those, just have a few things a head of them on the list.
