    Pool Size

So I am upgrading my garter to a enclosure that is considerably larger than his current home. I wanted to give him a nicer place to swim/drink from. What would make a good "pool" the enclosure is diy so pool would be diy or something like that. Let me know your thoughts

I would say as big as possible as long as it is easy to change/clean. I wish I could give mine bigger water dishes but I've reach the limit for serviceability.

I had a bowl the size of half my 20gal going at one point. It was awesome until I had to change it... which is every morning.

My enclosure is two 105 qt tubs linked by a large PVC coupler. One side is all land, the other is all water, except for a large paving stone in the middle.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

Other then placing tall water dishes in with neonates. Some neonates have trouble getting to those.

Could one put a filtered small aquarium ( maybe 3-5 gal?) within a garter snake setup?.

    Re: Pool Size

this is what I did with my first tank... I got a piece of acrylic glass cut, a few inches high by however long you want, I think I went with 15 inches. I used aquarium calking to lock it in place and make it leak proof.

In the picture I have a little bubbler because thats where I kept a small supply of minnows. But the snakes liked it, it was their hangout, until I walked by, then they all scittered to the hides

and it's super easy to clean... just pick up one of these waterguns
