Yours wouldn't be the first fitchii to be sold as a concinnus, that's for sure. I've even suspected some of them to by hybrids between the two.

T.s. fitchii in WA look like this, but again, it's red spots on a dark background. A lot of inexperienced people misrepresent or misidentify these as oregon red spotted garters, simply because they find them in Oregon.

Sure looks alot like my T.s.fitchii

Here's a few Oregon red-spotted garter pics that I would say are very "typical"

    Normal next to a anerythristic:

A typical large (3.2 foot) female of mine:

The head coloring varies. Some heads are dark, some have very bright orange heads, depending on the area of their origin.

And of course, there's the rare but lovely blue anerythristic girl I have:

By far, the orange single stripe, with black head, or orange head is the most common.

    Re: Check out my pics

Yeah, some people just assume, hey, it's a garter snake, it has red on it's sides, I found it in Oregon, must be an Oregon Red Spot...

Thing is, Oregon red spots do not occur east of the cascade mountains. They are found mostly in NW Oregon from Salem northward (Willamette Valley) to Portland, in wet habitats, never far from water. Valley garters (Thamnophis sirtalis fitchii) can be found on the east side, and much farther south than red spots and have a much larger range in oregon than concinnus do.
