Still active and alert? Probably nothing to worry about as long as he's not losing weight. Maybe try putting the mouse in the hide for a night and see what happens. Maybe try some fish, sometimes a strong smell will trigger an eating response.

Yeah still active and alert. Totally normal other than not swallowing the food. I'm try some live fish (I think zebrafish are OK/no thiaminase)

16 years is a long run. Sometimes as they get to that age their feeding habits change. I'm going through something similar right now. I ended up hibernating my old man garter with no breeding intentions. It just seemed liked he was expecting it. Good luck this your guy!!

Yeah 16 years is pretty old so I was scared, but he ended up shedding and then being ravenously hungry. It was probably about 3 weeks between meals but he seems fine and ate a slice of fish and a pinky mouse
